The sailing yacht "Karkiet" is a twelve-foot dinghy that was originally owned by the Belgian Olympic sailing champion Leon Huybrechts (1876–1956). Huybrechts competed in the Olympic Games of 1908, 1920, 1924 and 1928, winning, among other things, a gold medal in the Scheldt dinghy class at the 1924 Paris Games. The Karkiet was one of his boats and was donated in 1962 to the National Maritime Museum of Antwerp, now known as the MAS (Museum aan de Stroom).
