Her Majesty's Yacht Britannia is a former yacht of the British royal family. The 126-metre ship was built by the Scottish shipyard John Brown & Company, located in Clydebank. It was christened by Queen Elizabeth II and launched on 16 April 1953. The ship was decommissioned on 11 December 1997. It is currently located in Leith, the port of the Scottish capital Edinburgh, where it serves as a popular tourist attraction. It can be accessed via the information centre and adjacent gift shop in the shopping centre Ocean Terminal.

The ship has three masts, the tallest of which is 42 metres long. It could reach a speed of 21.5 knots. Since its commissioning in 1954, the yacht, with the Queen and the Prince and/or other members of the royal family on board, has travelled 1,087,623nautical miles (2,014,278 km) and made 696 visits to foreign destinations. The crew numbered 217 ratings and 19 officers. Many dignitaries have been guests on the ship. Prince Charles and Princess Diana took their honeymoon on Britannia in 1981. In 1986, over 1000 refugees from the civil war in Aden were evacuated by the ship. It was equipped to also serve as a hospital ship if necessary, but it was never used for this purpose.
