The Pluut (or pluit), is a fishing vessel related to the Schokker.

The pluut, however, is smaller and narrower, has less sheer and features an outward-sloping gunwale on the foredeck. It also lacks the characteristic curved 'bear teeth' of the Schokker-type vessels. They were sailed with a gaff (main)sail and a fisherman's jib, possibly supplemented with a staysail and a flying jib.

The mast was not equipped with shrouds and could not be lowered by means of a counterweight at the mast's base (a so-called unstayed mast). Pluten used to fish mainly in the southeastern part of the IJsselmeer.

The small pluut measured approximately 10 by 3 metres, was somewhat pointed at the bow and stern, had a foredeck up to the mast, enclosed by a sturdy washboard, and possessed a fish well. They were mainly used for fishing with passive gear (so-called drift net fishing).

The large pluut measured approximately 12 by 3.5 metres. It had a forecabin under the foredeck and was also equipped with a fish well. Fishing was done with both passive gear and the beam trawl.
