The HNLMS M-class frigates of the ‘Karel Doorman’ class were versatile frigates of the Royal Netherlands Navy, built between 1991 and 1995. They are known as "M-frigates" (where "M" stands for multipurpose), designed for flexible deployment in anti-submarine, anti-air and surface warfare.

They are one of the most successful classes of Dutch naval vessels, partly due to their sale to other NATO countries.
