The Libra was built in 1968, together with sister ship Norma, as a block-laying vessel for the construction of the Europoort harbour entrance, commissioned by Combinatie Havenmond Hoek van Holland (Adriaan Volker Baggermaatschappij B.V., Baggermaatschappij Bos & Kalis B.V., Van Hattum en Blankevoort B.V.).
In 1982, the Libra was converted into a side stone dumper by order of Dosbouw and deployed for work on the pier dam. Afterwards, she was converted into a multi-purpose support vessel as Ì´Ì_HAM 602Ì´Ì_.
