Fokker D17
Source: www.wikipedia.org/wiki/Fokker_D.XVII
The Fokker D-XVII was a fighter aircraft built by Fokker. The prototype flew in 1931. The first aircraft was purchased by the Air Force in 1934. Eleven were built at the time, originally intended for use in the Dutch East Indies by the KNIL. On 18 January 1938, a new altitude record of 10,180 m was set with this aircraft. In 1940, a small number were still in use as training aircraft at the Texel flying school. The Air Defence Command deployed them, amongst other things, as escort aircraft for bombing missions by Fokker C-Xs, including near Wageningen and the Grebbeberg.
