The ferry 'Koningin Emma', built by the Royal Schelde Company for the Zeeland Steamship Company. Hull no. 209, built 1939. Brief history of the mail boat m.s. "Koningin Emma":
14-01-1939 - Launch was performed by Queen Wilhelmina, which did not go according to plan. The launching mechanism for the final push failed, four hours later the ship was launched after all.Ì´Ì_
1939 - built at the Royal Schelde Company, hull no. 209 as "Koningin Emma" for Zeeland Steamship Company in Vlissingen.
1940 - requisitioned by the Dutch government for troop transport between England and France.
1941 - after conversion into an "assault ship" in Allied service: H.M.S. "Queen Emma".
1945 - transferred to the Royal Netherlands Navy.
1946 - back with Zeeland Steamship Company and deployed on the Vlissingen - Harwich Hook of Holland - Harwich route.
1948 - scrapped in Antwerp, Belgium.
