The MS Thora Dan was a Danish cargo ship built in 1956 at the H.C. Stülcken & Sohn shipyard in Hamburg, Germany, for the shipping company Rederiet Ocean A/S of Copenhagen, with J. Lauritzen A/S as manager. The ship was part of the so-called “Dan” series, a fleet of ice-reinforced vessels deployed for expeditions to Antarctica.

After her construction, the Thora Dan was deployed to supply Danish research stations in Antarctica, as well as for other expeditions to the south. In 1974, the ship was sold to Varcia Shipping Co Ltd in Cyprus and renamed Elias K. In 1975, it was sold again, this time to Manases Shipping Co SA in Panama. On 1 November 1977, a fire broke out in the engine room during a voyage from Kakinada to Rotterdam. The ship arrived in Madras, India, under tow on 4 November 1977, and was considered a total loss. In January 1979, the ship was scrapped in Bombay, India.
