The ship was delivered in February 1956 to N.V. Stoomvaart Maatschappij 'Oostzee' in Amsterdam, with Vinke & Zonen acting as manager. The ship was deployed on various trade routes, including to ports in Europe and Africa.
In 1972, the ship was sold to the Ocean Tramping Company Ltd in Mogadishu, Somalia, and renamed Minfung. In 1976, the ship came into the possession of the China Ocean Shipping Company (COSCO) in Shanghai, China, and was renamed Hong Qi-12
The ship was scrapped in 1982 or 1983.
