The MS Atlantic was a Dutch motor cargo ship built in 1978 by Tille Scheepsbouw B.V. in Kootstertille, Friesland. The ship was originally registered under the official number 4936 Z GRON 1978 and was based in Groningen, the Netherlands. It was managed by Seatrade Groningen B.V. and owned by C.V. Scheepvaartonderneming Atlantic

History and Service

In 1982, the ship was lengthened at the Mutzelfeldt Shipyard in Cuxhaven, Germany. Following the extension, the ship had a gross tonnage of 2,285 GRT, a net tonnage of 765 NRT and a deadweight of 2,448 tonnes. It was renamed Atlantic Ice and registered under the flag of the Netherlands Antilles.

In 2000, the ship was sold to Silver Sea Reefer Co. Ltd. in Bangkok, Thailand, and renamed Silver Sea 2. The ship was eventually scrapped in 2012.
