The MS Zonnewijk from 1941 was a Dutch motor cargo ship originally built as the British Empire Raleigh during the Second World War. The ship was acquired in 1946 by the Dutch shipping company N.V. Stoomvaart Maatschappij 'Wijklijn' in Rotterdam and renamed Zonnewijk.

After the war, the ship was used for cargo transport on various international routes. In 1961, during a voyage from Santiago de Cuba to Shanghai with a cargo of sugar, the Zonnewijk ran aground near Cape Spartel, west of Tangier, Morocco. The ship broke in two and was later considered lost.

l.o.a. 79 cm

an "Empire" built by Doxford; in the Artek catalogue, this ship was referred to as "Alchiba". Further study of the drawing and photos reasonably suggests that this is the "Zonnewijk".
