The MS Silja Europa, built in 1993 by Meyer Werft in Papenburg, Germany, is one of the largest cruise ferries in the world. With a length of 202 metres and a gross tonnage of 59,914 GT, it was the largest ship in its class upon delivery.

Originally ordered by Rederi AB Slite for Viking Line, the ship was taken over by Fährschiff Europa KB following the owner’s financial difficulties and chartered to Silja Line. The ship was deployed on the Helsinki–Stockholm route and later on other routes in the Baltic Sea.
In 2013, the Silja Europa was acquired by Tallink and deployed on the Tallinn–Helsinki route. In 2014, the ship was temporarily chartered as accommodation accommodation in Australia, but returned to the Baltic Sea in 2016.
The Silja Europa offers a range of facilities, including restaurants, bars, a theatre, a nightclub and a swimming pool with sauna. The interior has been designed with attention to detail and comfort, and has been refurbished to meet modern standards.
The Silja Europa currently still operates on the Tallinn–Helsinki route, offering mini-cruises of around 24 hours. With its impressive dimensions and extensive facilities, it remains a key player in Baltic cruise ferry traffic.
