The MS Amsterdam (2000) was a cruise ship operated by Holland America Line, built by Fincantieri in Italy. The ship was the third in the fleet to bear the name Amsterdam and the fourth ship in the Rotterdam class (R-class), alongside the MS Rotterdam, MS Volendam and MS Zaandam.

Accommodation and Facilities

The ship offered a range of facilities, including:

Cabins: Cabins ranged from inside cabins to luxury suites. The smallest inside cabins measured approximately 16 m², whilst the Penthouse Verandah Suites were up to 107 m² in size.

Restaurants: Cabins were equipped with modern facilities, such as air conditioning, flat-screen TVs and en-suite bathrooms.

Entertainment: The ship featured a theatre, a casino, a library and various bars and lounges.

Wellness: There was a spa, a fitness centre and two swimming pools on board.

Youth programmes: There were facilities and programmes for children and teenagers.


 

Routes and History

Following its delivery in 2000, the MS Amsterdam sailed on various routes, including:

Alaska: During the summer months, the ship often sailed to Alaska.

Grand Voyages: During the rest of the year, the ship undertook long world cruises, including voyages to Asia, Australia, New Zealand and the South Pacific.

Round-the-world cruises: The ship also undertook round-the-world cruises, departing from Fort Lauderdale, Florida.

In July 2020, it was announced that the ship had been sold to Fred. Olsen Cruise Lines, and in September 2020, the ship was delivered. Since then, the ship has been sailing under the name MS Bolette.
